Growing pattern

Chuck this up, don't Chuck it out:

The NSRCA is now two years behind in their payments to me for 24 monthly columns, 8 KF articles, district border cmte chair, Nats location cmte member, and providing some leadership for all the stuff that needed to be done in the district (judge training, district champs, contest calendar, AMA grand event, etc.). I am beginning to feel like this is a volunteer position. You know, since we are not getting paid, it might be easier to get more done if we get more people involved to do it. List talk is fun and easy and really valuable to understand issues, but transitioning it to action should not be a process of finding someone else to do it.

The NSRCA still has an open position for a Promotions Manager and we really need someone that can spend a little time on this. A promotional video, a sequence training video, new cool clothing, banners, web ads, even the "roving pattern carolers" that Ed recommended for monitoring other lists could all be coordinated, prioritized, staffed and Chucked off by someone with a desire to make something happen. It's amazing how much help appears when someone agrees to lead.

Chuckling on,
--Lance

Gray, your timing to contribute is always right on, now if you could just build that into your sequence.. wow J

I would assist any vp in any way possible. I have a lot to learn about pattern before attempting to hold this office. And how could I fill Lances shoes, he has done a superb job!

And the plane weighs 10 lbs 26 oz I said.. (grin)

  Up Chuck

Ed, you are right on. I think there are tons of small seemingly
insignificant times when we could expose people to pattern and the joy
in learning the skills needed to fly it. Notice I did not say compete.
There are those out there and I fully understand this who don't want
their hobby to be a means of competition so I try to get them to just
learn to fly the maneuvers to gain the feel for precision in their
  flying.

I too monitor RCU and in basic help questions I try to respond but I am
fairly new to pattern, 3rd year but still learning equipment and yes, I
am developing some strong opinions about setups. Who would have thought
  that?

As for what I can do, I wouldn't mind being the accumulator of info.
Someone sent me an email and the question was asked... is this for
technical help or to recruit. I would like to see the video as a
  recruiting tool.

How many hobby shops do you see with vcrs and dvd players now?

I think we should give this a try. If you have any inflight video that
would be great. We could even post on the NSRCA website downloadable
planes for G2 sim and the Aerofly Pro sim?? Just a thought.

  Thanks for any input.
