you do not have to use the max dia prop the motor can turn

Reducing dia will reduce motor load at max powe and reduce vertical 
performance.  But most likely you'll still have all the power you need.

Thats the cheapest and easiest solution as it only requires you to test fly 
with a prop you might already have.

If you want more power for vertical, you can then swap landing gear and get 
a longer prop, or use the solution full scale uses... go to 3 4 or 5 blades. 
2 blades is more efficient than 3 or 4... but they went to 4 blades on the 
Corsair because they didn't have another 2.5 ft of ground clearance.
