Thanks for the encouragement. Part of the problem is a new radio and
airplane. May have about 15 flights now most of which were in windy
conditions. I should be flying the old 120 but I'm enjoying the new 160 so
much I've been flying it exclusively. I actually enjoy trying to optimize a
new design.
The really neat feature with this airplane, is the adjustable dihedral. One
turn on the 4-40 adjusting screws changes the centerline root to tip offset
about 1/16", and I'm finding the airplane isn't as sensitive to dihedral
changes as I anticipated. Must be the deep (12") fuselage. Rudder response
around neutral is also much more than I've experienced with previous
airplanes. Throttle to rudder mix is about half what the 120 needed and
tweaking an up line looks like a fish swimming up stream, with 60% expo.
I'll be trying 70% next time out. Maybe the radio is more responsive, I
don't know. Its just going to take some getting use to.
Jim

Your flying is probably better--this is about the time of year we start
seeing all the crap we're doing wrong...and trying to correct it...

Sign me up. I plan to be there by Miller Time.
I changed the thrust adjusting bushings yesterday. 1/2 degree less looks
like a lot. I'll drill some 1/4 degree offset bushings just in case. It's
raining again today and my flying sucks. Oh Well
