Most are answered in the new rules approved, but others may have interpretations necessary.? The drift question in the stall turn may be related to (1) drift out of the box and (2) judge interpretation of immediate when establishing a wind correction angle after the stalled maneuver (versus integrating a pitch angle change during the turn to establish that attitude).? Thanks in advance and looking forward to the first D2 contest of the season at Kinston, NC! 1. FAI vs AMAWhich rules do we use for each class and what are the basic differences?? There is a lot of information being presented at the meetings, in the AMA magazine, and in the FB forums. (note- as articulated in the rules proposal changes-? understanding that not all the powerpoints were updated as of the March judging seminar...) 2. What is the ruling on acceptable takeoff angle? The sequence descriptions stated a gradual climb out yet that is very subjective and some have received "dings" for this.? At the judging event, we all agreed that a 30 degree or less climb out is the best.? What do you think?? 3. Stall Turn downgrades3.1 Plane rotation at top of maneuver - what is the final decision for each class?3.2 What about "drift" down the runway but in a straight line - points off and if so, how many?(e.g. Plane is heading in a straight line and pulls into the upline...trying to compensate for head wind but the wind forces the plane back in the upline or downline.)3.3 While in the upline, the plane heads off track of the upline path - how many points off? 4. Spin4.1 Off center - what is the deduction and how do we calculate it (e.g., how much is "1/4" of the maneuver if its 25% off center).4.2 On downline after spin, the aircraft travel away from the intended spin direction (after spin) - what is the deduction and how do we calculate it?? (e.g., centering, again, but after the spin occurs)4.3 Stall occurs but rotate at angle instead of defined by rules, what is the deduction and how do we calculate it? 5. FAI only allows 10S 42.56 volts.? If FAI, Masters, and Advance are now governed by FAI, are those classes limited to 10S?? What about Sportsman and Intermediate?? What is the official ruling for each of the classes this year? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
