adhesives with anything. If you do you will end up with the epoxy plus the
crap you put in as a finished product resulting in an incomplete reaction
which equals lower strength, lower temperature resistance and lower chemical
resistance. This is not "glue". Second JB weld does not come close to
the temperature requirements of an exhaust system. Whats epoxy does? Not too
many that cure at room temp. Metal (aluminum powder) does not increase the
temperature resistance, only keeps the adhesive from softening as much as a
non filled version.</FONT> <BR><FONT face=sans-serif size=2>The best bet for
your application is Hysol 9394. This adhesive cures at room temp and then
with an elevated post cure can withstand 350F continuously. Heres how
to get some free........everyone remember this-trust me it works.
</FONT><BR><BR><FONT face=sans-serif size=2>First make up a fake company
name ( or if you can use your real company name). Log onto
www.dexteraero.com get the contact info closest to where you live.
Call and say that you are investigating high temp epoxy adhesives and
are bonding and conducting Lap shear tests at 300 and 350F. Your analysis
says you need about 1000 PSI of shear strength at 330F-ask for Hysol 9394.
You are bonding<B> 3 different times</B> and only need about 100 grams for
each time. They will send you 3 pre-weighed mixing semco cartridges. If they
start asking you questions that you cannot answer prentend to be new on the
job and where told to do this, or better a supply chain management
person-they buy everything without knowing anything......Hysol will send
these as free samples. If you are worried than you can by these cartridges
from from the local distributor for about $35 each or get a quart for about
$75.</FONT> <BR><BR><FONT face=sans-serif size=2>Now if there is a Hysol rep
on this list then NEVER MIND.......It all for the promotion of

size=2>What kind of epoxy can handle exhaust temperature?<BR>I need one to
fix my ES carbon pipe, but could not find one today. I went<BR>to
local Schuck's auto part, they only had something with metal in them.
