<DIV><FONT face=Arial>I tend to agree with Wade's comment on download time. I
would guess that the file size could be considerably reduced if the graphic
content were reduced to a more reasonable resolution. The current graphic
resolutions are probably aimed at the printed media....so, we must take
this into consideration for an online document. </FONT><FONT face=Arial>I still
think that .pdf is the best format for distribution.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>Thinking about <FONT color=#ff0000>printed matter</FONT>.
I was wondering if it would be useful to have a "NSRCA Users Manual". The manual
would contain everything that a new pattern or seasoned pattern flyer needs to
know about NSRCA/AMA pattern. The current rule book (appropriate sections) could
be included. It could be updated annually and provided to members and
prospective members at contests, by mail, on-line, etc. Some thinking would
have to be done to insure that all members have access to the
information...especially those not connected to the Internet.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial></FONT><FONT face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>We need a way for pattern product providers to get the
word out...so we can find what we need...and they can peddle their wares. Maybe
the Users Manual would be one option. A special edition K-Factor once or twice a
year. Of course, links on the web site should go without saying. If we can get
our overall costs down, we could change this to an information basis rather than
"advertising for sale". One problem with the advertising in the current K-Factor
format is the high resolution formats required by big vendors...like JR,
Horizon, Futaba, etc. This type advertising is one reason for the LARGE .pdf
file sizes for the current on-line K-Factor. I would propose listing all
comers on the website, providing website/email links as well as phone/address
information. The same list could be provided as an appendix to the "Users
Manual"</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>In all of the above, my vote would be to dump the current
monthly K-Factor and use more expedient means to get the news out. Since, I'm
connected on-line the K-Factor is of little benefit to me. Yes, I realize that
there are those who aren't connected and we have to get information to
them...but not in the format of a monthly publication that we can't afford or
achieve...thus far. If we have to have something on a periodic basis, a simple 2
sheet letter from the "management" would suffice.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>All of the above isn't the do-all to end-all...it's just
food for thought. I'm not adamant about anything.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>One question is how come I get to download in pdf format all kind of
manuals and pages of information larger than the k-factor in a reasonable time
