<DIV>Sadly, not the case. Oldest son and wife in mid 30s and not sure of
having kids. Second son, (hates anything that flys), is just 30 and has
announced that he and wife have decided not to have a family! My daughter, 25,
is married and wants a large family, 4 or 5 kids, is in her 3rd year of
Medical school. She plans to wait until getting her MD before starting a
family.....Her husband is a Surgeon at Allagheny Medical in Pittsburgh, PA.
She is at Pitt!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Doesn't look like I'll be teaching any grandkids for at least another 6
or 7 years!! I really envy those of you who have them!!</DIV>

<DIV>Back in 1984 my then 16 yr old son got me into pattern. He too had
gone to the field with me, learned how to use the power tools, much to the
chigrin of his mother. She nearly had a fit when she came into the
basement and saw him operating the Dremel jig saw when he was about 4 yrs
old. He didn't solo until he was about 12, but reaally took off after
that. To this day, he credits his interest in engineering and computers to
the exposure to the hobby and the people in it. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Since graduating from Clarkson, about 10 years ago, he hase not had
much time to play with the planes, but the flame is still there. This year
I had him flying my Zagi and my G-Trick. He reallly liked the G-Trick and
commented that he thought it flew better than anything he had flown in
competition in the 80's. That includes a Tipo, and several other top 60
size competition planes.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>We got his 9 ch radio updated last spring and I prepared one of his
old planes, an 48 inchWS high performance plane, and he flew it just
great.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I have offered him one of my 120 ships to fly any time he wants to
return to the competition, and I could see the juices start to flow again.
At 34, married 2 years, and having just bought a house that needs a lot of
remodeling, that may be a year or two away, but I do think he will
eventually return. </DIV>

<DIV>Yes, it is a great father-son hobby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</DIV>
