Very good points made about guys perceiving IMAC as all about 3D aerobatics. Its NOT!
I love the IMAC ships and would like to compete in both disciplines of flying. Time and money will not really allow this to be an option.
If the NATS were any indication of event participation Pattern is VERY alive and well.
Guys there are so many disciplines of model aviation That you are only gonna get your "Market share". There may be a tendency to want everyone to like what you do.In reality it doesn't work that way.
Lead by example. I got started by watching people do more than just bore holes in the sky, And wanted what they had. Flying with a purpose and to improve flying skills. They told me that this was the best way they knew to be a better pilot.
If you know guys with IMAC ships that just HOVER, Teach em a sequence IMAC or AMA style. (If there thinking that stuffs to easy and boring throw them a FAI or UNLIMITED schedule and tell them this is what the TOP DOGS spend most of there time perfecting!) Then you done about all you can do that day.
Oh have you seen newbies try to hold a strait line with 45 degrees of elevator travel? :-)
