The scary part of this is the vulnerability of the clubs and/or the AMA
sanctioned organizations dragged into a lawsuit involving a non-certified
antenna. Personally I hate the long prang-prone (ha, I just made that up!)
antennas, but I don't want to be the test case.

The FCC rules state that the xtal must not be "user accessible", so the
manufacturers use a drop of contact cement to hold them in place!
In my opinion, that does not make them legal!</font> <font face="Arial">So,
what to do? It's kinda like 6 meter stuff. It's not illegal
to own it, just illegal to operate it if you don't have a license!</font>
