socket tubes which were too small for the tube and had to sand the interior of
the tube. I made myself a homemade drum sander on the end of a 3/8" dowel to do
this with. The drum was tape wrapped around the dowel then wrapped with 100 grit
sticky-back sand paper.</FONT></DIV>

year that if you get a loose fit when changing to carbon just apply some thin
CA to the tube for buildup to make a nice fit</FONT></DIV>

have a comparison of wing tube weights carbon fiber vs. aluminum?
Also, what's the probability of a good/loose fit with existing cardboard
socket. Temptation comes with sockets pre-glued in wing panels.

only. The socket by itself weighs .3 ounces or 9 grams.
Considering how far back you are saving the weight, it will make a
differance if you need to add nose weight to balance you plane, due to
fact you will need a lot less nose weight than you would have with the
heavier stab tube.</FONT></DIV>
