1. A tank with an open vent operates at atmospheric pressure and fuel is more likely to be vaporized (foam) from vibration. (Hence the foam clunk.) More isolation from the airframe is desirable than was necessary with the previous pressure supply system.<BR>

2. Considerable fuel expansion occurs when exposed to temperature increases (sitting in sun). A bladder tank that is completely filled using a syringe will encounter significant pressure increase as a result. This increased volume must go somewhere, options include flooding engine, breaking the tank, removing lines, etc. Fitting the bladder (bag) tank as shown on the package and filling with a pump while the vent is open minimizes the problem, as the bag doesn't completely fill the tank (18 oz in a 20 oz tank). This leaves sufficient room for expansion.<BR>
