attended, you were usually handed a fairly nice throphy for 1-2-3 and the rest
of the guys never walked away empty handed, this has nothing to do with contest
attendance, it is up to the cd to contact sponsors to</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>donate one of their products (some of which we buy
many) so that we get more people interested in pattern and the new
people</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>will buy more of their products or that was the
whole idea. I was involved in contacting people for the last Clayton contest in
NJ</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>and between all of us in the club contacting
someone, we had a nice spread of prizes for everyone. The local hobby shop
Creek</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hobbies where most of us bought most of our
equipment did not flinch getting us a Futaba Radio one year and a JR radio
the following year.</FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2> The Club in turn
took pictures of the guys with the products in their hands and put it into the
K-factor etc.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> At this point in time, it is not that
important to me if I receive a prize, but I know when I was first starting out,
it was pretty cool</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>getting a $30 Tru Turn Spinner , or even a new
battery pack. Lets think back to what hooked us on this pattern thing other
than</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>the$200 + cost of going to a contest, we all know
that just goes with the territory. Let me know what you think, but for the
thousands of dollars I have paid to these businesses in the last ten years, I
think we are letting them off to easy since they are</FONT></DIV>
