Chromo Base, I would suggest <U>lightly</U> wet sanding the tape line with
1500 to 2000 grit before masking the second color. You'll be amazed on how
much "loose"paint comes off the line leaving a nice shallow ridge to mask
against. Be careful and you'll be fine.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=4>I'm in the process of painting my Smaragd and this is the
first time I've chosen a color scheme where the colors butt up to each other.
In the past, I've always used a white separation stripe between each color. My
question is whether you wet sand the ridge at the tape line before you mask
for the next color, or do you just tape off the color that was already
applied, pull off the previous masking tape and shoot the next one. I'm
using 3M fine-line tape.</FONT></DIV>
