ST2300 carb. The main tank isn't inline with the carb, but is setting on the
floor of the plane. I will build a tray to set it on. I do have a Perry
pump. Will this work with the ST2300 carb? Do I need to run one of those 1
way valves on the muffler?</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>You said that you replaced the carb, so I assume
that you have a Perry or OS. Either of those should work. If you are running
the main tank/ hopper tank set-up (this is what I run), you also have to
consider the position of the main tank relative to the carb. I have a hydeout
the has two tanks. Originally, I had the main tank an inch or two above the
carb and the hopper tank was in line. It would get very rich and eventually
die. When I moved the main tank in line with the carb and hopper tank,
everything was fine. As long as the needles are set properly, it runs great!
But, both tanks do need to be at the same height as the carb. If you can't
change the position of the tanks, you may want to use a Perry pump. You could
also be having a problem with the homemade muffler, if it isn't providing a
good transition.</FONT></DIV>

the mid-range of my ST2300. I have replaced the carb and the ring. I
use 15% Wildcat fuel. I use a 14oz. main fuel tank and a 4oz. hopper
tank feed the engine. The fuel line from the hopper tank and the engine is
approx. 8" and is on the center line with the engine. The muffler is
home made. Because the engine is mounted inverted, I have taken a Max
header, cut it to about 3". Then it turned 90 degrees into a small expansion
chamber, then out to a small tube under the plane. If anybody has any
ideas or more questions I may answer, I would appreciate it.</FONT></DIV>
