order a conical drive washer retainer. The measured everything and the
bearing is in correctly at first try. Only problem was that the retainer
is not stopping before reaching the front bearing. </FONT></SPAN></DIV>

Everytime when I try to put the drivewasher in, the retainer is touching the
front bearing that causing the shaft not turning with prop

to me like the collet and or the drive washer is damaged . The force required
to push the front bearing into place should be sufficient to seat the drive
washer on the collet enough that it would not slip . <BR><BR>That said , let
me add that forcing the bearing into position is a practice that should be
avoided . The side load forces exerted on the balls and races can do damage
that can greatly reduce bearing performance and life . <BR><BR>Robert
