I had the chance to get my Mintor 1.70 on the
test stand this weekend. I ran three tanks of fuel through it. I didnt
have any A5's so I used FOX long reach w/idler bars. Any thoughts on the
use of these plugs or would they not hold up in the long run? What is the
difference between an A5 and a Fox plug? Seemed to work ok for what I ran of
it. It started on the first flip after priming. By the third tank I
could get to idle at about 1800. Still loaded up some after extended idle
but that was because of the rich needle setting and the pipe may be a little
long. I wont be able to check pipe setting till the ring is seated better
or I can get a steady needle setting. I am breaking this in just like I did my
OS. Run rich and lean engine till it almost peaks and then ritchen
it back up again through the whole tank. It would hand start when cold but
had to use starter when it was warm or hot so I assume it will take a little
more time to get the ring to seat good.
