(the engine was a ST2300), but mine also became very hard to blow through and
the engine wasn't really running (never did really run, though... it was soon
replaced by a 140RX). Took a foot long 1/4" drill bit, and drilled
multiple holes as far as the bit would go in from both ends. Fixed the
restriction problem. Also my last Bolly muffler.</FONT></DIV>

problem on a Bolly 480 muffler - after several hundred flights. Acetone /
alcohol soaks didn’t seem to do much good, so I finally took a long ¼ dia
drill and drilled 6-8” straight up the center line through the exhaust end of
the muffler. It seemsed to relieve the obstruction problem, and is still one
of the quietest setups at the field. </SPAN></FONT></P>

of this before but has anyone ever<BR>experienced a pipe becoming plugged
after prolonged<BR>use. This is a Bolly 590 which has been used for
three<BR>seasons now. I couldnt figure out why I was down<BR>500-600 rpm, 2
stroke engine is fairly freshly<BR>rebuilt, runs ok, just down on RRRRsss. I
finally put<BR>the thing on my test stand and noticed the pipe was<BR>hard
to blow through, swapped the pipe with another<BR>one and found 1000
rpm.<BR><BR>Now it turns 17x10N at 8500 on 25% w/ Bolly 565n<BR>Was at 7500
on 25% on the plugged Bolly 590.<BR><BR>Normally I run on 15%, but was
curious whether nitro<BR>would pickup the rpm before I figured the pipe must
be<BR>restricted.<BR><BR>Is it possible to clean the semi plugged pipe out?
