<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Wow that ends up on average about an 8% deviation
for all 9 pilots.....46Points average....and then divide by the winners round
score a about a 560......The fact this is before any Hi-Lo or TBL corrections
are made means its close...Pretty close.....Its a point here or a point there
that is the difference......By the way the rules in the Sporting code call
for when there are 5 judges and 10 pilots then TBL is to be used. This
was not the case and the Hi-Low drop method was used. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm not advocating either method they both have
good and bad points that can be made for them....But the rules state TBL is to
be used.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Or another way to look at it Average of 46 pts
difference and a K of 67...The deviation is around 0.68 pts per maneuver when
the numbers are applied...This is great since the scoring in F3A is Whole
points</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Don, as a pilot that was flying in the final....I
want to thank you and the judging team for your efforts to standardize and
increase consistency in judging. This is great info to back up the results of
the judge training schools....Add to that the list of new names that were in the
final as judges.....Man its good to see.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>You new guys are more than up to the task. I also
liked the way the judges rotated a little and only saw action for 2 of the 3
rounds. This helps eliminate bias and keeps fresh eyes watching for outstanding
maneuvers as well as defects.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I just finished looking over the judging stats
for the finals at the NATS. In my opinion, all the judges did an
excellent job. As an example, here's round 1 from the FAI Finals and the
range of scores the 5 judges assigned. </FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Now that's a pretty tight spread for 5
judges. I'd say that's it a tribute to the quality of judges that
participated in judging the finals. Thanks for all the help and remember
you judges are now in the matrix for recommendation for our world judge.
To be considered, you need 8 rounds of finals at the NATS or any round judged
at the Team Selection. If you want in this matrix, volunteer to
judge the finals at next years NATS.</FONT></DIV>
