<DIV>John, </DIV>

<DIV>If you want to see a dramatic difference in drag of the windmilling
prop in a full scale Cessna, try this. Use an aircraft with a constant
speed prop, set up for best glide speed with the power off. When you
have this done with the engine at idle, note the number on the VSI.
Then pull the prop all the way out, you will see a pitch up and a smaller
number on the VSI. This gives the effect of a feathered prop in a
single. We are also taught that in multiengine aircraft that if you
can't feather the prop of the dead engine, it provides a lot of drag on the
dead engine side and in a real engine out situation it will really hurt
you.</DIV>
