<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>What I've done for the last few years on both my
2C's and 4C's is at the end of the day, immediately after the last flight while
the engine is hot I drain all the fuel from the tank. I then add 1 to 2 ounces
of FAI ( 80% methanol 20% castor ) to the tank and run the engine on this till
the engine won't fire any longer. The thought is to flush all the
nitro/contaminated fuel from the engine while it is hot, nearly all the methanol
will be burned off and all that will be left is a coating of castor in the
engine ( diluted a bit with methanol, you never get it all out ). I use S&W
fuel products and used both brass and aluminum tubed tanks without rusting
problems with this procedure. I rarely fly more than twice a week and often do
not fly for weeks at a time ( family, work and motorcycle all take priority
).</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Around Sep 02, I rebuilt one of my OS EFIs -
new conrod, Shadel AAC piston/liner, and a stainless steel rear bearing w/ 2
rubber seals. I use S&W fuel, 22% nitro, 17% synthetic, 2% castor
and run dry at the end of every flying session and then "burn" some Amsoil
MP through the engine (yes, the engine will run on the propellant in the
Amsoil MP). A fair bit of the Amsoil MP "oil" remains in the
engine.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Approx 14 months and 700 flights later, the
engine is running as strong as when it was rebuilt. No bearing noise
or roughness. BTW - no brass fuel lines or clunk.</FONT></DIV>

bearings rust in a tank with aluminum tubes and no clunk as in a Tetra

rusted the original bearing in very few
flights. </FONT></DIV></BLOCKQUOTE></BLOCKQUOTE></BLOCKQUOTE></BLOCKQUOTE></BODY></HTML>
