<DIV>The about the only parts that wear out are the brushes. You can tell when you have to push the switch in all the way to get it to turn. The switch is actually a spring loaded cam that lets the brush come into contact with the commutator. Mine lasted 4 seasons before the brushes needed replacing. The gears don't seem to wear much.</DIV>
