rolls in intermediate nearly cleared the judges chairs, definately made them
flinch. It is not a hard manuever to master if, as has been stated, common sense
is used while learning it. The powers to be that took it out were FAI and
Masters, or retired from pattern pilots. I too have never talked to an
intermediate pilot that didnt want it. At last years contest and again at this
years contest that I am the CD, I will give the Intermediate pilots the option
to fly the new proposed schedule. </FONT></DIV>

the snap is an immelmann and you can drive it as high as you need to feel
comfortable. If the snap scares you just begin doing it really high until you
feel comfortable with it. After doing it a few times I think you'll find that
it really isn't that risky (if done at a reasonable altitude). </FONT></DIV>

snap in Intermediate to help prepare for Advanced that has both an inverted 45

past 2 years and started practicing the <FONT face="Comic Sans MS">45º down
positive snap before the "Powers that Be" decided I wasn't qualified enough
to perform that maneuver. I've talked to several other Intermediate
Class fliers and asked them their opinion. I have yet to find anyone
that didn't want to fly it. The 45º down snap is not hard to
learn.... Just start with a shallow dive and work into it.

line, DO A SNAP, fly more of a straight line, and then pull to level

maneuver in Intermediate, you will be scaring off many potential
Intermediate flyers. I can only speak for myself, but, when I was at that
level, you could not have even paid me to do that. I had trouble
staying on the proper line doing a sequence of "Immelman....Outside
loop....Split S" (which was in the sequence at that time).</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2>I know that your decision on this
does not affect what I will be flying, BUT, it is something I
believe in passionately. I have been a member of the Canadian
Precision Aerobatics Committee for a few years and this type of scenario
keeps coming up. I think that most of us making decisions on these matters
have NOT flown in Intermediate for several years and we have
forgotten what it was like to step up to that level.</FONT></DIV>

and talk to Sportsman flyers about this......Maybe even see if they will
