<DIV>I have bought and sold on Ebay. It is a great place to connect sellers
and buyers. You will probably do much better selling surplus airplane stuff
than you would at a swap meet.</DIV>

<DIV>I was burned once, fortunately it was not a lot of money. As with most
anything, buyer beware, and if it sounds too good to be true, it probably
is.<BR><BR><B><I>John Ferrell <johnferrell@earthlink.net></I></B>

<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>
<DIV> I know it's the time of the year that many of you are going
to swap shops to get rid of old and unused RC inventory. I have a
thought on that subject. I think you can do far better selling on either
RCUniverse or Ebay, You expose your wares to so many more people and you
stand a great chance of getting more for your stuff this way. RCU will
allow 4 free listings per year and doesn't charge a commission. Ebay is
quite a bit more expensive but exposes your product to the most
potential buyers.</DIV>
<DIV> It's a smart thing to monitor the market value of what your
selling and don't overprice it. Engines sell really well but be fair.
Recently we sold a mint condition YS 140L that was 3 years old for
$300 on Ebay. We were pretty pleased with that. Also back up what you
sell with prompt communication and total honesty. A tip on Ebay that
works for me is reserve listings sometimes I start the bidding out on an
item for a dolar but I set a reserve on the absolute minimum I would
accept. This gets fence sitters involved and pumps up the competition.
Sometimes 2 buyers will get in a bidding war and it gets goofy. Also if
your buying don't show your hand too soon. Time your bid to be at the
end and you'll save a ton.</DIV>
<DIV> If your new to Ebay it's important that you establish a
positive rating before you attempt to sell items. You do this by buying
things 1st. You can buy cheap stuff at 1st to get your feet wet.</DIV>
<DIV> I'm telling you this because it works very well for me. The
money I generate from these sales lowers the out of pocket that I need
to get new stuff. Also I have been able to buy things cheaper at times
used them and sold them off at little or no expense to own.</DIV>
<DIV> Swaps tend to get to the point that you nearly have to give
stuff away and that's why I think you would do better this way. Now go
make some money! Mike</DIV></DIV>
