I bought a snowblower, a fireplace grate heater I couldn't find anyplace else, a couple of kits including a flying lawnmower, and a few sport engines off of Ebay. The best tool you can use is the feedback. It gives you an opportunity to publicly notify all buyers and sellers of the quality of their perspective deal partner. Chances are if someone is dishonest they have very little feedback, or negative feedback. If over 100 transactions someone has all positive feedback or just about all positive, you don't really have to worry about being burned as 101. If the deal goes bad you can tell everyone on Ebay what happened, and the seller/buyer has a chance to respond. I also like it as an option for hard to find items. As a classic video game buff, it can be hard to find a copy of Jumpman Jr. for the long extinct Coleco Vision game system, but on Ebay you can find them all day long. There is definitely something cool about that.

A tip on Ebay that works for me is reserve listings sometimes I start the bidding out on an item for a dolar but I set a reserve on the absolute minimum I would accept. This gets fence sitters involved and pumps up the competition. Sometimes 2 buyers will get in a bidding war and it gets goofy. Also if your buying don't show your hand too soon. Time your bid to be at the end and you'll save a ton.</DIV>
