suggested...below. But...I use a 5/16" wide strip of CLEAR monocote. With clear,
it doesn't matter what your colors are in the hinge line....and for some

strip of monokote about 1/2" and fold it in half lengthwise; run the folded
edge across a sharp corner like a table top, to create a very good crease.
Move the control surface as to open the gap as wide as possible and lay the
film in the gap. Seal it down carefully to avoid binding. A ruler held in
the folded crease while ironing, assures a straight, bind free
