time they were on back order. So for giggles I took the carb off of my
3M 170 to see what would happen, and it ran great. I was happy with the
performance so I just bought a 3M 170 carb for the O.S. I can e-mail

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I installed an old Perry carb on the 91FX. It
landed with the same idle speed as at takeoff. An unsuspected additional,
but understandable, benefit was <U>much</U> better braking on
the downlines. There may be slightly less top end power but the benefits far
outweigh the loss, if any. The Perry has a brass barrell which has a lower
coef of expansion than alum. OS needs to reengineer the FX carbs and also, I
presume, the RX carbs.There may be other carb options availiable that I am
not aware of
