I did find rooms available at four places about six miles from the field, they are Super 8 5101 E. Parkway Groves, TX 409-962-2200, Southwinds Inn next door to Super 8 409-962-3000, Executive Inn 5131 E. Parkway, Groves, TX 409-962-6000 and Motel 6 also next door to the others 409-962-6611. These are a little better quality than Lance & Gray frequent but not equal to a Holiday Inn.
