<br><font size=2 face="Arial">I've never put a screw or anyting in my stab tube. Just made sure the front rod that the adjusters clamp has notches, not flats to the end of the bar. this prevents the stab from sliding out.</font>

<br><font size=2 face="Arial">For my CF stab tube I used a very short length of a dowel that was just the right size to fit the inside of the CF tube. Before inserting I drilled a hole length wise through the dowel to lighten it. I then glued the dowel in place and drilled and tapped the hole for the 4-40 screw. This work just fine and since the tube is so small in diameter the weight is pretty insignificant.</font>

<p><font size=3 face="Times New Roman">To save weight, I am switching to the PBG CF wing and stab tube. In this plane I already have a 4*40 bolt in the wing and stab as my fastening method.</font>
<p><font size=3 face="Times New Roman">Can you drill and tap these tubes successfully wicked with thin CA after tapping? Realize the stab tube will only be taken off rarely. One of the wing bolts will be removed on a regular basis.</font>
<p><font size=3 face="Times New Roman">Or, do I have to glue a piece of ply to the inside of the tubes and tap that?</font>
<p><font size=3 face="Times New Roman">Before it comes up, I do not want to change my mounting system unless it absolutely needed.</font>
