<P>I was trying to infer "looks like to be able to compete or break records with model airplanes the weight limit has to be below 5 kg. or 11 pounds". Is this the only agreement between FAI and AMA?</P>
<P>There is another interpretation that I think is for insurance. The model can no be more than 55 lbs. to be able to get insurance. However, we can not use a model that is more than 11 lbs to compete or break records. I know that there is the scale competition "US Scale Master" that you can use models that weight more than 11 lbs. I think US Scale Master is independent of AMA but use AMA for insurance and make sure that pilots meets safety requirements. The question now is: What is the limit for AMA scale models? What about FAI scale? I don't know but it will be interesting to find out. What about other events like racing?</P>

<P>I learned last year at the AMA museum that officially a model airplane has to be below 5 kilos or 11 lb. I noticed that all records using model airplanes requires that the model be below 11 lbs.
