CA Models planes II've seen the (WB60 and the 24% extra), the aileron servos are
in a "torque box" that contacts both sides of the servos and the servo is a slip
fit in the slot. There is no isolation in this mounting, but the servos

the servos out to the middle of the aileron span. It was a bad idea, the whole
servo rocks in the grommets. If you can, do it lengthways, even if a bit more
servo has to protrude to do it. </FONT></DIV>

Models "Epsilon" kits for next season. I'm very pleased with the quality of
these kits but one thing has me puzzled. Rather than utilizing the
traditional <EM>lengthwise</EM> servo mounting, the design calls for
mounting them <EM>sideways</EM> for both tail surfaces & ailerons. Has
anyone had any experience with this type of mounting? Here's a look at
what I'm talking about:</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>It seems to me that this type of mounting could
result in movement of the servo when force is applied. I've spent a boatload
of money on digital servos & top quality hardware for these planes &
the last thing I want is servo movement which defeats any precision setup.
At this point I've decided to modify the design for traditional mounting
unless you "pros" can shed some light on the sideway method.
