I'm still working on it, but as of now, what you state below is
basically true. Except, AMA doesn't have to pay attention to any list
submitted by the NSRCA.<br>
And, secondly, it appears that the "list" could consist on one name,
picked by the AMA, to represent us. Which means, of course, a de facto
pick by the AMA and not the FAI, since a one person list doesn't give
the FAI folks much of a pick. And, apparently, that's what happened in
this case. As I say, I'm still working on it. I've always wondered
just how this worked. <br>

here is that Bob Noll was selected for the 2003 WC by the AMA

Thanks for Part 2. But, I'm still confused by the contradictory
statements. Does our judge get chosen from a list submitted to the FAI
by the AMA, or does the judge get chosen by the AMA, (Presumably Dave
Brown?) I realize that, at this juncture, the AMA is not required to
recognize any list of preferred persons submitted to it by NSRCA. Was
Bob Noll chosen by AMA fiat, or was he chosen from a list submitted to
FAI, by the FAI committee? Understand: I am certainly not challenging
his, or anyone's, qualifications. Just trying to acquaint myself (and,
hopefully, others who may be interested) in the chain of command and
legal procedure.<br>
Thanks to all of the knowledgeable folks who are enlightening the rest
of us. It just may stimulate a further interest in flying FAI<span
class="moz-smiley-s1"><span> :-) </span></span><br>

to be recognized while "in action" overseas.
Finally, the AMA President must be personally comfortable with the names
presented to the FAI. After all, the judge represents the AMA President.
