Rick, Tim, years ago I had access to a transit and used it to make
extremely precise measurements on Phoenix 8 and later an Arrow(many years ago).
It's an excellent method but I admit I haven't continued the approach since I
never sprung the grand or so to actually own one. Now, with some
inexpensive transits available, it is a subject worth revisiting.

built in crosshairs allows a perfect view.

<gulp> here goes: I'vwe done it two ways:

1. Measure the incidence of the stab itself without the elevators
mounted -- with either with a meter or with center lines on the stab LE
and TE.

2. If the elevators are mounted lock them in neutral with tape, sticks,
etc, and measure away.

Can't wait to hear other solutions to this!

>Hi guys and Gals

>I was wondering how one goes about measuring this with no tips
on the stab? How do you make sure the elev is level to the stab?
