<DIV>It is true Gordon that an AMA member isn't required to give up their rights
when they join the SIG, but you have to admit it does seem a bit improper when
the NSRCA members overwhelmingly vote in favor keeping scored takeoffs and
landings and the NSRCA President and Vice President co-sign a proposal that goes
directly against what the membership they represent wants. Don't you think your
top officers have a moral obligation to represent the SIG that voted them
into office?</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Then the contest board members play a silly game of, "But I represent my
AMA district, not the NSRCA". As IF they didn't really know what the
majority of active pattern fliers wanted.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>It's clear to everyone in the NSRCA that knows anything about the Rules
Survey fiasco that the majority of the contest board doesn't care what *we*
want. It's the ole' game of who knows whom and "we know what's best for
you".</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>On top of this we as AMA members don't even get to vote for the Contest
Board members! Give me a break!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Until there are major changes in the way this process works the best we can
hope for is turn-over in the contest board and hopefully some of the new members
will have a conscious and do what they know the pattern fliers want. BTW, I
believe there are some contest board members that are already this way, we just
need more of those types. But hey, when the SIG's own Pres. and VP don't care
what the SIG members want, how can we expect the contest board
members to?</DIV>

procedure does not involve the NSRCA, go to the AMA web site and download
document 333.pdf, its the rule change proposal form. Its signed by three AMA
members one of whom must be a CD. The NSRCA is a special interest group not a

<DIV>These rules were written BEFORE the NSRCA was recognized as the official
SIG for pattern, I believe. It is in our best interests to act together,
in concert, which is why we formed the NSRCA. And why we all
belong. It's kinda like being a citizen; we enjoy the protection of the
Union, and are obligated to work with the majority. Being an NSRCA
member includes an implied responsibility to cooperate with the majority
opinions democratically arrived at. This way, we can provide the best possible
guidance to the AMA Contest Board in maintaining our sport, to betterment of
the greatest number.</DIV>
