<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Well, it's been an interesting "break" from
pattern whilst assembling the new Arresti X, so I have this Ultra RC Yak 54
(.46 size)....well, actually this one is the SECOND one ... but that's
another story.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> Anywho - it is really a
great deal of fun. With the OS .46FX, and APC 12.25 x 3.75 (yeah, it's
weird, but boys, it really WORKS on this combo) I have a very nimble, fast
or slow, REALLY aerobatic little bird. Keep it assembled to throw in
the van.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> So.... tonight, second
evening in a row of just plain fun with this little guy, and I'm doing all
these fast/slow point rolls, rolling circles, etc. right on the deck....the
guys start hollering about inverted passes, so.... Of COURSE I want to
oblige.... so here we go....each one a little lower.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> There's no wind, clear
skies, just a gorgeous evening. Engine is running like a sewing
machine, and the Yak is just terrific. Here we come.... inverted pass
# 17 or something. Dead level - I mean, it would have been a TEN for
"Inverted Level Flight Back".....well under a foot off the
weeds.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> And THEN I remembered the
area East of the runway has this VERY slight uphill S to N.... too late
....The screaming OS 46 and the inverted Yak are a beautiful
sight.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> Into the
ground.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>It was going so fast, that it SHEARED BOTH APC
prop blades about 2" out from the hub. The cowl looks like someone sat
on it. It probably skidded in the tall grass about 15' before coming
to rest, and it made one GOD-awful noise when it hit. But the wings
were perfectly level.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Here's the bizarre part.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Not ANY other damage. Nothing. No
spinner scratches. Vert. fin/rudder, just fine. Canopy has a
little scuffing on the very front. But NO structural
damage.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> Cleaned everything up, CA'd
the cowl cracks, new prop, and off we went to finish the
evening.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Just a mite bit higher, this
time.....</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>It's fun to knock about with a little toy once
in awhile.</FONT></DIV>
