<DIV>Buddy the biggest reason that they do finals in masters and FAI, is that
they don't fly in front of the same judges <FONT color=#000000>unlike the
Intermediate and advanced then you have the problem of finding more judges
also according to the number of pilots you use in both classes, if you
use 8 pilots and single flight lines and 3 rounds it wouldn't be
over and all others would, if they use 2 flight lines then more judges just
don't seem practical to me.</FONT>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Sans Serif" color=#000000> No I don't fly advanced
anymore for many reasons #1 because I feel like I have a short time to
get as good as I can be at age 56, the last 3 years I have practiced the
FAI pattern in the fall and feel I have learned much more than staying flying
advanced, so now I only flying FAI not good at it but I learn something
every time I fly, #2 I like the pattern changing every 2 years #3 not
everyone and there brother have a say in what FAI do (less problems and
headaches) #4 I never could get score down at the site 4 and from
what I could see I was one of a few that was tring to emulate the FAI and
Masters pilots, I proved this last year last day, by just doing fast rolls no
finess at all just fast and stop my scores went up by 100 raw points I was
told all years on site 4 that I was the only one that really ever showed good
throttle management</FONT> <FONT color=#000000>but still no scores #5 if
I'm going to be last I'd rather be last in FAI than last in
advanced.</FONT></DIV></DIV>

<DIV>There are plenty of judges available to do what I suggest, even to the
point of flying everyone in front of the same judges. The fact is that if you do
this many will be required to judge two and some all three days. If people go to
the Nat's to pick the best then they should be willing to do what is necessary
to accomplish that. If they use the Nat's as a vacation and are not willing
to do what is necessary to help assure that, then we will never know who is
actually the best we will only know who in a mathematical probability
most likely is the best, and given the fact that the best judges are not
used every day on every flight line the mathematical probability is most likely
not correct so why do we continue to settle for the possibility of allowing
the worst of the best determine the winners. </DIV>
<DIV>If that is what we want, then I will get off of my soap box and shut my
mouth.</DIV>
