<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>there's a sweet spot that's about 3/4" long for
where the pipe works best. You don't have to nail it perfect, but shorter than
this and the midrange will get rich and longer it will lose some power. If
the low end is not at a lean setting, you have the option to reduce the pump
pressure in addition to lenghtening the pipe. Lenthening the pipe is the
first option to try, but if you start losing power and still have the problme
then you must lower the pump pressure. Since you are hunting for that "magic"
3/4", the trombone method I told you about is a quick and reliable way to find
the sweet spot quickly. Before you discount a pump adjustment, remember
you were using a Bolly, which may have different tuning characteristics, or it
may not even be a tuned pipe.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>If the engine is running too rich in the
mid range lengthen the pipe. This pipe needs a little longer setup
then Lance originally posted. When I went to the AeroSLave pipe I
installed it the same length as my previous pipe and it was slobbery
rich in the mid range. I had to lengthen it about 1 1/2
inches. If it comes on the pipe real hard then it is way too
short. This pipe when at the right length will be real smooth in
transition and not come on the pipe hard but have a smooth constant
power on top end.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Help needed...tuned pipe problems!!</DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV>I've bought the AeroSlave CF pipe for my OS140RX turning
an APC 15x11 4-blade. Aeroslave gave a starting length of 29.5
inches from the engine exhaust port to the end of the pipe. However,
the engine runs extremely poorly at this length. In order to
transition past the midrange the high end needle has to be very lean
resulting in a lean high end. The power comes in with a bang
and the engine accelerates in down lines. I think this is too
short a pipe length although the header is full length.</DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV>Does anyone have any experience running these pipes on OS
engines? What's the best starting point?</DIV>
