How do you like the Zafiro? I was thinking of building one.
I'm flying a Zafiro that would fly well with that engine. Also the Runaround series of planes would fly excellent at an all up weight of about 7lbs.
IMHO the excelleron90 would be too heavy fo this engine. It would fly it, but the vertical would be limited. IN intermediate, you would need to rush the one hlaf square with half roll so you would not run out of energy.
I bought the kit from CA and was very happy with it, minimal construction with foam core wings and tail surfaces. I did tone the size of the ailerons and elevators for pattern flying. Very good rolls and and spins, tracks very nice and stable in the wind as well. I am running a 13 x 7 prop on 15% fuel. I made a pipe tunnel and use a header and pipe so the engine is very quiet. The pipe was purchased from Central Hobbies (where else for pattern gear). I was considering going to a YS 110 but the plane and engine set up works good and why mess with success. No complaints. Next plane is an Eclipse, maybe electric power.
