I'd be in favor of continuing with auto-reply to the group instead of to the sender... except that it don't work.

Right now our pattern list has so much topic hijacking and personal one liner threads that when I see a 'did you get home ok?' post in a thread like 'fixing your ES pipe' I generally delete the rest of the thread, since it's now wayyy off topic.

Self discipline would solve both problems - going off list for stuff NOT of general interest // and changing the topic name when you take the topic in a new direction.

Dave on this one. The list is pretty important to all
>>of us
>>that have made the decision to join, and we obtain lots of
>>information,
>>ideas and enjoyment from it. In my opinion, it needs to stay as it
>>was to
>>keep it alive. Certainly there are times where some of the threads
>>get
>>pretty tedious but as it has been stated many times before, we all
>>have a
>>delete button, as well as other ways to direct or filter our mail.
>>Lets
>>leave that up to each of us, as individuals. If postings or threads
>>get too
>>personal or off topic, the list members seem to be able to police
>>the
>>problem, as has happened in the past. I feel that a small
>>insignificant
>>problem has been elevated to a level that
does not require this
>>amount of
>>corrective action.
>>
>>Dan Curtis
>>
>>D5 VP
>>
>>
>>=================================================
>>If you want your reply email to go to the list, you must Cc: the
>>list!
>>
>>To access the email archives for this list, go to
>>http://lists.f3a.us/pipermail/nsrca-discussion/
>>To be removed from this list, go to
>>http://www.nsrca.org/discussionA.htm
>>and follow the instructions.
>>
>>List members email returned for mailbox full will be removed from
>>the list.
>>
>
>=================================================
>If you want your reply email to go to the list, you must Cc: the
>list!
>
>To access the email
