<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Over the past couple years, I've pretty much run
all the tuned pipes and mufflers from Aeroslave, Asano, Bolly, ES, Grieve, MAC,
and OS/Hatori. All have strengths and weaknesses, and which one to use
depends a lot on your priorities for power, linearity, weight, volume of noise,
"quality" of the noise, and price. If I needed to buy a pipe today, I'd
buy the Aeroslave. For the Webra 160, assuming a 2.25" rise header, I'd
set the pipe length at 24.75" from glowplug to the main baffle in the pipe (not
the little flow straightener wedge just in front of the main baffle) measuring
in a straight line. Prop for about 8,000 RPM - 16.5x12 or 13, 17x12
or 13, 18x10 or 11.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> What other pipes are good -
that one is a bit pricey. Also how do I go about calculating the header
rise ?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> I suppose it would require
first picking the pipe and then the pipe center would be 1/2 the diameter (yes
I know that is called the radius) plus the standoff distance from the
fuse. The vertical distance between the pipe center and the center of
the exhaust would yield the rise.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> Is there a generally useable
estimate for pipe diameter that can be used w/o first selecting the pipe
?</FONT></DIV>

Piedmont Models I think its the same as the one Central Hobbies sells. I
bought the header with a large rise, about 2 1/2" and then I cut a section
